The Danaides were 50 sisters in Greek mythology who married the 50 sons of their father's twin brother. They all (but one) murdered their husbands on their wedding night. For this, they were doomed in the afterlife to try to fill a tub that leaked. Here a few of them are emptying or about to empty their jugs, while others circle back to refill their jugs.
