The Syndics of the Clothmakers Guild - Rembrandt van Rijn
Counted Cross Stitch Pattern
A group portrait of the officials of the Clothmakers Guild in a paneled room. Their job was to regulate the quality of cloth sold in Amsterdam. The five men in black with white collars and tall hats are seated at a table covered with a richly colored table rug. One is just rising from his chair. The man behind them without a hat is a servant. All are intently focused on the observer. (Baroque, 1662)
