A popular swimming and boating resort on a small branch of the Seine at Croissy. "The Froggery" was an easy weekend destination because a railroad line (new at the time) ran nearby. To the right is a floating restaurant. In the center people are enjoying a mid-water platform in the shade of a tall tree. The water is busy with rowboats, sailboats, and swimmers, and ripples catch glints of light. (Impressionist, 1869)
