A spray of apple blossoms in a vase made from a nautilus shell mounted on a silver flower stem with cockle shells as a base. The vase stands on a table covered with a brocade cloth. Nearby is an ivory fan with a tassel, a shallow goblet with a pearl necklace spilling over the sides, and a small box partly covered by a gray velvet curtain with a gold fringe. In one corner is a lace curtain, and the background is red and black wallpaper in a diamond pattern. (American, 1870)
