A red-brick factory shown with cubist-type perspective. There is a fire escape leading to a second-story door, a dark window, a ground-floor door, and an exhaust pipe and various wires. Though ordinary, this type of building produced a positive thing in American culture, modern conveniences. This was painted in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, based on the rear of a building visible from Demuth's home there. (Precisionist, 1921)
