A spectacular arrangement of flowers in a beaded glass vase standing in a small corner alcove. One yellow rose lies beside the vase, and perched on it is a red, black, and white butterfly. Also beside the vase is a housefly and two black-and-white seashells. The flowers in the vase include tulips in yellow, variegated red and white and red and yellow, blue iris, yellow-and-orange marigolds, columbine in blue and white, frittillaries, forget-me-nots, lilies of the valley, pink and white roses, narcissus, anemones, hyacinths, and others. Another butterfly and caterpiller are tucked into the bouquet. (Baroque, 1618)
