A view of the interior of the Palm House on Peacock Island near Potsdam. It was built to house Friedrich Wilhelm III's collection of palms and there are also fragments of an Indian temple. Besides the palms, there are all kinds of lush tropical plants, and two women in saris give scale to the towering palms and pillars. (1832)
