Hello stitching friends,
I know I've been missing in action for a while, and some of you have asked if I was OK. Sort of. It depends on your definition. For about 2 1/2 years, I have been looking for a new house -- obsessively is the word that I think applies. I wanted a house built in the 1920s or 1930s and I gradually built up a very long list of features I was looking for as well as a list of features I wanted to avoid. My husband also had a few basic requirements, which combined with mine, served to rule out almost every house in the United States. But this November, we found a house that we both liked! You really can't imagine what a miracle this is. He estimates that I have looked at about 15,000 houses (almost all online, but there have been a few trips to see houses in person as well). So we're moving to York, Pennsylvania. We have friends and family in the area, there will be -- maybe not NO allergens -- but different ones, and it won't be 110 every day for 4 months of the year. Our move will be sometime after the New Year -- we don't have a date yet. What this means to you is that there will be a period of perhaps a couple of weeks, probably in January or February, when we are only offering electronic patterns. There may be a few days when we aren't able even to email patterns. (I have to get on the computer to do it -- it isn't automatic.) I'll keep you informed as best I can to avoid surprises. I also got very behind on updating the gallery. I have addressed part of the backlog, so have a look. If you've sent a picture that isn't there yet, I am continuing to work on it.
We have a pattern award for one of our latest patterns! Cindy Termuende of Bloomington, Illinois was the first to suggest Wasp and Pear - Gerald Murphy (shown below). I had licensed it when I was licensing other art by Gerald Murphy and then forgotten about it so that was a helpful reminder. Vermeer's Girl with a Red Hat, also shown below, was suggested by two people but neither responded to emails notifying them about it.
