We apologize for this newsletter being late, but we have been coping (poorly) with the loss of a cat.
Our award for The Storm - Pierre-Auguste Cot, announced last month, went to Alena Hybler from Sydney, Australia. Thank you, Alena!
There are lots of new pictures in the gallery! Some are new takes on patterns that were there before, and some are brand-new. There is also a good tip on making non-bendy scroll rods. (We'll incorporate this into the tips as well -- but for now it's just in the gallery.)
The US Postal Service has made some improvements in the information they provide which will be available soon on our web site. For Priority Mail and Priority Express Mail packages, they are providing estimates of when they will be delivered (for domestic mail only). We don't know how accurate these will turn out to be -- they are based on our zip code and yours, and don't take things like bad weather into account, but we will be passing the information on to you for what it's worth.
We will also tell you, when you place an order, when you can expect the order to ship (for all classes of mail). This information will also be given in the shopping cart but it may change if you delay checking out. (Our cutoff time for same-day shipping is noon central time).
In addition, tracking is now provided for Priority Mail within the US (not just Priority Express), and your confirmation email includes the tracking number. This is in place now although the web site doesn't say so yet. There is also improved tracking for first-class mail to certain countries (Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Israel, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, and Switzerland). In the past, international mail was tracked only until it left the US -- not very useful. We will be giving these tracking numbers to you as well.
These features will be in place by the end of the month, and we hope the additional information will be helpful!
