Cross Stitch Patterns from Fine Art by Scarlet Quince

Scarlet Quince News
July 2010

Hello stitching friends,

We have another pattern award this month: The Bookworm - Carl Spitzweg (shown at right). Credit for the suggestion (and a copy of the pattern) goes to John Parsons of Bloomington, Minnesota. Thank you for the suggestion, John!
Online Retail Needlework Shows

There are two online needlework shows coming up in the next month -- both retail.

First is the Needle Show Retail, July 15-18 (that's this Thursday through Sunday).

Following that is the Counted Wishes Cross Stitch Festival, August 1-7 (Sunday through Saturday).

Scarlet Quince will be at both shows and we will be offering show specials, different in each show, so be sure to visit both shows for the details. These are retail shows which means you can shop the shows, so don’t miss them!

This nifty gadget is the Star De-Tailor. It's for those occasions when something has gone wrong (frogging, you had to cut off a knot, ...) and you have a short tail left on the back of your work (too short to thread into a needle and tuck under).

Just slide the wire loop of the De-Tailor under some completed stitches, drop the loop over the tail, and pull the loop through. A twist in the end of the loop keeps hold of the tail as you pull it. (You'll note that this is very similar to the threader for a punch-needle, but the star keeps it from getting lost.)

It's available for about $5 from many retailers.

New patterns! Clink any picture for a closer look.
