As you can see below, one of our new patterns this month is Vine - John Henry Deale. Huh? Didn't we have Vine a long time ago? Yes, we did. We developed the pattern from an isolated picture that we came across somewhere. But more recently, we found a picture of a three-panel embroidered screen including Vine, Apple, and Pomegranate. This set was in a different color scheme (more green, and less blue) than the original Vine. It seems that in addition to producing finished tapestries, the Morris Company produced stamped needlework designs to be embroidered by the buyers, using colors of their choice. In order to have a version of Vine that goes with Pomegranate and Apple, we now offer this second one. If you purchased the original Vine (DEA001) and now wish you had this one (DEA015), you are welcome to exchange it. Please contact us for details.
Another reader has sent us a description and pictures of her floss storage system and it has been posted in Ramblings. Hers is a three-part system, and we particularly like her method of pre-cutting all her floss. It sounds quick and easy!
We've added a new feature to our web site! If you want to pre-blend your floss, there is now a calculator which tells you the length you need for each symbol. It may be a little tricky to understand, particularly if you try compare it to the "shopping list" floss requirements, so we have also written a tutorial on understanding floss requirements. Have a look -- the tutorial gives all the details on using the two calculators, and if you have any questions, send us feedback.
We're having a quick little sale, just through Mid-Summer's Day (June 21)! Everything is 10% off. (If you're in the southern hemisphere, it's not summer, but you know what we mean. It's sure hot enough here!)
