I'm sorry it has been a while since our last newsletter. We lost our cat Mia very suddenly at the end of September due to acute kidney failure and it has been a difficult time.

We have two pattern awards this month: one new and one old! Discarded Roses - Pierre Auguste Renoir was suggested by Martha Lin, of Boston, Massachusetts. The pattern is shown below. In an earlier newsletter, we announced a new pattern, Scales - Jessie Willcox Smith, which turned out to have been suggested by Joan Schmidt from Virginia. We had her suggestion down as "Little Girl Playing the Piano", but it's the same picture. A lot of art that was done for book or magazine illustrations has no real title, so it's easy for this kind of thing to happen. We're glad Joan got in touch so we could give her her pattern award.

We've added the floss labels for the free rose pattern to the download page. As a member, you have access to this pattern anytime you would like to look at it or stitch it, and now the floss labels are available for you to print out as well.
