Happy 2017!

We have two pattern awards this month! Umezawa Manor in Sagami Province - Hokusai was suggested by Margueritte Cox from Durham, North Carolina. North Road, Bermuda - Winslow Homer was the suggestion of Denise, of Woodbridge Virginia. Both patterns are shown below. Thank you, ladies, for suggesting two beautiful pictures.

We are finally caught up with adding pictures to the gallery! Whew! Thank you, everyone who sent us pictures of your work, and please know that I appreciate it and so do the people who wonder how this stuff actually turns out!

We are approaching completion of a new stitching web app! We call it SQ Stitch. It will let you follow a Scarlet Quince chart on any PC or mobile device. When you tap a stitch to mark it complete, it will automatically highlight all nearby stitches of that symbol. No more staring at the chart for nearby stitches and missing them anyway. We've been using for a while and it definitely makes stitching go faster.

Once it's released, you'll have access to ALL of your Scarlet Quince charts, whether you bought them or they were free. You don't have to buy them again to stitch with it.

It's not quite finished, but we will shortly need a FEW people to help us beta test it.

If you're not familiar with beta testing, it is a stage in software development when the software is mostly finished and mostly working. At this point, it's helpful to have some fresh eyes on it. A broader audience can try it on devices we don't have access to, may try to use it in ways we hadn't anticipated, and look at whether it is intuitive to someone who hasn't been thinking about it for months.

If you'd like to help, please email us and tell us what kind of device you would be using (PC, tablet, or phone, including brand and model) and whether it is Windows, iOS, or Android. Please include the version number. You can usually find that under settings. Please also tell us your preferred browser. For this stage, we would prefer people who feel fairly comfortable using their devices.

We'll tell you much more about it when it is ready for everyone to use!
