March 2, 2015 “I am keeping you updated on St Cecelia. One cherub is done and I am working on the second one. As you can see I had to make a grid because it is very easy to make mistakes on this piece and they would be very visible.”

May 12, 2016 “Here is an update on St Cecelia. I work on her every day. She is slowly coming along. This is the last update I will be sending you until it is finished, because I do not want to keep rolling and unrolling it. I will send you pictures when it is finished and framed.”

July 5, 2019 “Well St. Cecelia is finally finished and in time to present it to my grandson Fr. Dan Darmanin. Dan was ordained a Catholic priest on June 1, 2019. After five years of stitching, this is the results. She is just beautiful and worth all the time I put into her. You might recall that I told you that my grandson was at that time a seminarian preparing for the priesthood. One day he showed me the picture of St. Cecelia an asked me if I could stitch it because she was the patron saint for organists as also played the organ. Well I immediately thought of the Scarlet Quince Co. Since I had already finished Monet’s Iris, I knew that there was no other company that could do this picture justice. You certainly captured her beautifully. I thank you so much and so does Fr. Dan. He has blessed her and hung her on a wall in his office. Thank you again for making this picture into a chart.”
